As some of you may know, I grew up in a suburb of Houston, Texas. We had a tight knit group of neighbors who’s we played with as children. Now, I live in Janesville, Wisconsin with my husband and my children. One of the neighbors that lived across the street from us in Texas moved to Illinois some years ago. Well, they booked a newborn session with me and travelled to my home studio. It was such a fun time to see them again, and reminisce over past times. The newest addition to the family, MaKenna, was just beautiful and so sweet. It was important to Mom to have a more “mom and baby” focused session, and I’d say we accomplished just that!

We were still able to capture adorable “just baby” photographs, too!

Can you believe this sweet girl was born an entire month early?! Mom actually had booked both a maternity and newborn session with me, but went into labor just days before her maternity session. Although we were both certainly saddened by not being able to do her maternity session, we were able to capture a gallery that Mom loves.

When clients arrive to my home studio in Janesville, WI, they are able to relax while getting their hair and makeup done. This is such a nice perk because we all know (or will soon know!) how tiring those first weeks are with a newborn baby. Typically, I am able to start working with baby while mom gets pampered. If baby is hungry, I am able to safely feed them as I have been an RN for many years, including in the NICU and PICU! This unique qualification allows most new moms to relax and know their little one is safe with me!
