When Khalil’s mom reached out to me for a newborn session, I knew we were going to have a great session! Baby Khalil came with his mom and dad to my studio in Janesville, WI for a full newborn session. While mom relaxed getting professional hair and make up, I began to work with baby boy. Khalil really wanted to stay awake, but eventually I was able to lull him to sleep.

Dad and baby were absolutely adorable together. You can see the love these parents have for their new son in these photographs. Mom was so patient and loving towards her new baby! Their new baby is so loved! One of my favorites from this session is the backlit, high key image with mom and dad. I love the contrast in these types of images, and also love that their skin looks creamy and soft. Baby looks so peaceful once he fell asleep.

For every full newborn session with Olivia Acton Photography, momma gets hair and make up. This service is so nice because just after giving birth, mom typically doesn’t feel her best. Mom (and dad) are usually running on little sleep and may feel heavier than they normally are. That is why having a great hair and makeup artist is wonderful. It makes mom feel more like herself. Confidence shines through. Mom is able to choose gowns from my client closet so she doesn’t have to worry about getting ready before she comes to the session. The gowns are flattering for postpartum moms. New parenthood can be so exhausting, but I’m happy that we can make mom feel like a million bucks despite just having a baby!
